| Come all ye boys and girls | Next is Mal Griffin, |
| Come listen for a while, | Who plays with such |
| I'll say for you a verse or two, | To all of us now, |
| An I hope that you will smile | He's another George Best. |
| As you all know, | Now to try to score, |
| On yon Saturday, | Past Hans Cantwell. |
| We went off to Croke Park | You might as well try, |
| A final to play. | To get out of hell. |
| Our lads were so good, | Our own little 'Mickser', |
| And played such good stuff | Is not very tall, |
| Sure we came back home with, | But he's really a great man, |
| The Dygnam Cup. | To handle a ball. |
| We beat our opponents, | Next is our strong, |
| Balbriggan they were. | Michael Manning, |
| And after the match, | Who left the Balbriggan Boys, |
| Sure we hadn't a care | Running round in a ring. |
| We filled the Cup, | Our Paddy Newman, |
| In Hawthorn Hotel, | Is so clever with his passes, |
| We were all so excited, | He made the lads in yellow, |
| We just had to yell. | Think they need glasses. |
| We won by 9 points, | Now to Vivian Reilly, |
| Or was it more ? | Who's ever so clever. |
| Mr. O'Toole was so excited, | He's go on playing football, |
| He didn't know the score | For ever and ever. |
| In goals we had Bracken, | Then last but not least, |
| Who's Oh! Ever so tall, | Is our mighty Rob. |
| He's just the right lad | Sure to see his great play, |
| To stop a high ball | Would make your heart throb. |
| Then to our own, | We must say thanks, |
| Tosh McCarthy, | To our substitutes, |
| He's really as smart, | Who, if we were injured, |
| As a busy bee | Would have stepped into our boots. |
| Next we come to the, | Thanks to our teachers, |
| Hannigans two. | Mr. O'Toole and Doyle, |
| Who could play their way past, | For you have really, |
| The lions in the zoo. | Made our lives worthwhile. |
| Next we have Daly, | Thanks to the girls, |
| Who's as cool as you please. | For their cheer and their lark, |
| And lands the ball in the net, | For without their support, |
| With the greatest of ease. | We wouldn't have reached CrokePark |
| Then to our own, | We've come to the end, |
| Dear little 'Dougs', | Alas and Alac |
| Who left the Balbriggan lads, | But maybe next year, |
| Looking like mugs. | Please God we'll be back |
| We move on now, | We'll live to fight, |
| To Taylor --- That's Aidie, | Another day. |
| Whose marvellous play, | And maybe win Division 'A'. |
| Would charm any lady. | |
| Next we come to----- | Now I'll give you the secret, |
| Paddy 'Garro' | Of our victorious group. |
| Who flies past them all, | Our strength and energy came, |
| Like a little arrow | From our teacher's magic soup. |
| Joan O'Brien |
