Reforming of the Fingal Ravens in 1955

There was only a Juvenile team in Rolestown around 1955 when it was decided to start up the Fingal Ravens Junior team again. The man responsible for setting up this team was Malachy Griffin. They had no jerseys. They came up with a brilliant way to raise money. They went mumming. The lads who collected £ 15 included Tommy Kavanagh, Frosty Kiernan, Tom Dempsey, John and Peter Cantwell, Joe Fay, Seamus Reilly, Dinky Rickard, Christy O'Brien, Larrt Kinsella, Frank Jenkinson, Mick Kavanagh and Mike Manning. Malachy bought a set of jerseys for £ 18. The Minor team were beaten by Garristown by 1 point in the quarter-final of the 1957 Minor Championship, played at Oldtown.

The club started by Malachy in 1955 is going strong today.

In the Nugent Cup, Fingal Ravens played 32 games undefeated. They won the Fingal Cup three times. In 1961 they beat old rivals Ballyboughal in the final of the Feis Cup played at Oldtown. They won by 7 points after being 7 points down after the first ten minutes of the game.

From 1963-1968 the club had a run of bad luck. They competed in competitions like the Fingal Cup, Nugent Cup, McArdle Cup and Priests Cup. The club was on the road downhill when it received the boost it needed. On December 15th 1968 they beat St. Maurs 1-9 to 1-7 in the final of the Fingal Cup (1967) played at Sowrds.
